Overview
Profiles according to this standard can be used by vendors to indicate the capabilities of their OPC UA product. The profiles that a product supports typically appeared on its datasheet. Buyers can use this information to specify and procure products that satisfy collaborations and specific applications. Most OPC UA applications will comply with some, but not all, of the profiles. The responsible committee is DKE/K 931 "Systemaspekte" ("System aspects") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
