Overview

DIN EN 50396 contains non-electrical test methods used for harmonized low voltage energy cables. Especially those rated at up to and including 450/750 V are dealt with. These non-electrical test methods include all methods which were previously contained in DIN VDE 0281-2 (VDE 0281-2) and DIN VDE 0282-2 (VDE 0282-2). Annex A contains a comparison between the original location of each test method and its location in the new EN. Supplement DIN EN 50396/A1 (VDE 0473-396/A1) contains modifications to DIN EN 50396 (VDE 0473-396):2006-07. The responsible committee is UK 411.2 "Isolierte Starkstromleitungen" ("Insulated cables, wires and flexible cords for power installation") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
