Overview
This standard deals with the safety of electric multifunctional shower cabinets and electric separate multifunctional shower units for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. Through Amendment A11, in Europe hose sets do not need to be supplied with the appliance, whereas in non-European countries, which use IEC standards, they shall be supplied. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 511.3 "Ortsfeste Wassererwärmer" ("Fixed water heaters") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
