Abstract
The document applies to string insulator units of the cap and pin type with insulating parts of toughened glass or ceramic material. It is published with the object of specifying a standard procedure for the performance and evaluation of a residual mechanical strength test when such a test is required. It is not the object to make such tests mandatory for all string insulator units.
