Fire-extinguishing thermal-links
Abstract
This document is applicable to fire-extinguishing thermal-links for installation on printed boards or in free-standing end products. These devices are designed to respond to abnormal conditions of the controlled load at a predetermined temperature, breaking the circuit and simultaneously releasing an extinguishing agent. Note – A fire-extinguishing thermal-link does not replace the function of a fuse. The information in this standard supplement or modifies the corresponding provisions of IEC 60691, Thermal-links - Requirements and application guide. The requirements of this standard concern the product´s electrical intrinsic safety and the effectiveness of the function. The effectiveness of these products in combination with a specific end product is beyond the scope of this standard.
