Flexible insulating sleeving - Part 3: Specifications for individual types of sleeving - Sheet 212: Heat-shrinkable polyolefin sleevings
Abstract
This sheet of IEC 60684-3 contains the requirements for four types of heat-shrinkable polyolefin tubing suitable for use at temperatures up to 135 °C. Type A: Flame-retardant, shrink ratio 2:1 Type B: Non-flame-retardant, shrink ratio 2:1 Type C: Flame-retardant, shrink ratio 3:1 Type D: Non-flame-retardant, shrink ratio 3:1 Tubes of these types are usually supplied with inner diameters up to 102 mm for a shrink ratio of 2:1 and up to 39 mm for a shrink ratio of 3:1, and in the following colors for types A and C: black, brown, red, yellow, green, blue, orange, violet, gray, white, and green-yellow. Types B and D are transparent. Hose sizes or colors, except those specifically listed in this standard, can be provided according to customer requirements. These types shall be considered to comply with this standard if they meet the property requirements listed in Tables 3, 4, 5, and 6, with the exception of dimensions and mass. Materials that comply with this standard meet recognized levels of performance. However, the selection of a material by a user for a particular application should be based on the actual requirements for adequate performance in that application and not on this standard alone.
