Abstract
This draft standard deals with the safety of virtual fencing appliances comprising a base station and an animal neckband. The rated voltage of the base station is typically 12 V DC and of the neckband is typically 3.2 V DC obtained from a renewal energy source by means of which a virtual fence for agricultural, domestic or feral, animal control may be designed, implemented and monitored. The draft standard deals with: – Electrical and electronic safety requirements; – Environmental protection requirements; – Performance criteria for safety functions; – Test methods and acceptance criteria.
