Abstract
This part of IEC 60684-3 specifies the requirements for four types of flame retardant polyolefin heat shrink tubing with limited fire risk and a continuous service temperature of 105C as listed below. Class A: Thin-walled shrink ratio 2:1 inner diameter up to 102.0 mm Class B: Medium wall thickness shrink ratio 2:1 inner diameter up to 60.0 mm Class C: Thick-walled shrink ratio 2:1 inner diameter up to 51.0 mm Class D: Medium wall thickness shrink ratio 3:1 inner diameter up to 40.0 mm These hoses typically come in the following colors: black, red, green, blue, white and green/yellow. Sizes or colors other than those listed in this document are available as custom variations. These variants are considered to be fulfilled if they correspond to the property requirements listed in Table 5, Table 6, Table 7 and Table 8 except for the dimensions and mass. Materials conforming to this specification meet an established level of performance. However, a user's selection of a material for a particular application is based on the actual requirements for adequate performance in that application and not on this specification alone.
