Abstract
This document specifies the requirements and tests for insulators used in conjunction with interception equipment and down conductors with the aim of maintaining the appropriate separation distance, and the requirements and tests for insulated down conductors including specific fixings capable of reducing the separation distance. The testing of insulators and insulated down conductor components for potentially explosive atmospheres is not covered in this document.
