International Consultation Services (IBD)

Our goals

Without standards, global trade would be unthinkable. DIN’s International Consultation Service helps other countries set up standardization systems, which in turn makes access to global trade easier.

A well-functioning quality infrastructure is essential for the economic development of a country.

The quality systems of developing, emerging and transitional countries, particularly, tend to have shortcomings. This is why the International Consultation Service (IBD) helps such countries set up and improve their standardization infrastructure, which is an important part of any quality system.
Our goal is to help partner organizations in developing, emerging and transitional countries become effective partners in global standardization. They can then play their part in reducing technical barriers to trade in accordance with WTO rules.

This helps achieve the global aim of "one standard, one test, accepted everywhere".
