Analysis of steels and irons - Internal laboratory procedure for checking the accuracy of an analytical method by using Certified Reference Materials
Abstract
The statistical method checks results for repeatability and absence of bias comparing analytical results with those obtained during the certification of a certified reference material (CRM) of similar composition. The method can be applied to all steels and irons whose composition ranges are adequately covered or bounded by certified reference materials (CRMs). It allows a laboratory to check the validity of its measurements made on a homogeneous analysis sample of unknown content (see note 8.1).
