Wearable electronic devices and technologies - Part 402-4: Performance of stress measurements within limited context of wearable consumer stress monitoring solutions

Abstract

This standard specifies terms and measurement methods for stress of wearable devices having a skin conductance sensor, a photoplethysmograph sensor, or a respiration sensor. This standard also provides a test method consisting of a test protocol that is us ed on several human test subjects in a controlled setting. The human test subjects are to perform several tasks designed to obtain a baseline, induce relaxation or to induce moderate psychological or physical stress. By defining terms related to stress, stress indicators that are relevant for stress monitoring in wearables, and standard assessment protocols and data collection, to evaluate the capability of the wearable device to detect stress in the wearer. This standard is limited to wearable devices purchased by a consumer for tracking personal wellness.
