Requirements for fire containment blankets for use with electric vehicles
Abstract
This document specifies requirements for fire containment blankets used for electric vehicles. The electric vehicles covered in this document include electrically powered road vehicles in EC vehicle classes M1, M1G, N1, L6e, and L7e, as well as electrically powered industrial trucks. Fire containment blankets are not an active extinguishing agent. This document does not stipulate whether fire containment blankets are to be used or by whom they are to be used. Fire containment blankets are intended for use by instructed personnel. Fire containment blankets according to this document are intended for use on electric vehicles and are not intended for direct use on a removed traction battery.
