Abstract
This standard specifies a classification of whole and partial body counters, general design and performance requirements and test methods. It applies to devices for measuring the activity of gamma radiation emitting radionuclides in humans and for determining the subsequent dose equivalent due to internal contamination. It is applicable both to measuring devices for monitoring critical organs (e.g. lungs, thyroid gland, etc.) and to measuring devices for whole-body monitoring.
