Determination of the inhibiting effect of pickling inhibitors - Part 2: Methods for determining hydrogen absorption and its effect on mechanical material properties
Abstract
This document specifies methods for testing the effectiveness of inhibitors with regard to their inhibitory effect on hydrogen absorption when pickling steel components in aqueous, acidic solutions. These methods are suitable for testing and approving pickling inhibitors in development as well as in industrial applications, for example in the process monitoring of a coating process with regard to the risk of hydrogen embrittlement.
