Measurement procedure for the assessment of specific absorption rate of human exposure to radio frequency fields from hand-held and body-worn wireless communication devices - Part 1528: Human models, instrumentation and procedures (Frequency range of 4 MHz to 10 GHz) (IEC 106/686/CDV:2025); German version EN IEC/IEEE 62209-1528:2021/prA1:2025

Abstract

This standard unifies the methods for the evaluation of the specific absorption rate of wireless communication devices. It serves for the evaluation of the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) related to human exposure to electromagnetic fields from wireless communication devices in the extended frequency range 4 MHz to 10 GHz. The measurements are done by exposition of a measurement phantom (body simulator) by electromagnetic fields and determination of the SAR with the use of a probe. The description of the measurement method, specifications of this measurement phantom and specifications for the determination of the measurement uncertainty are contained in this standard.
