Determination of RF field strength, power density and SAR in the vicinity of radiocommunication base stations for the purpose of evaluating human exposure (106/626/CDV:2023); German version EN IEC 62232:2022/prA1:2023

Abstract

This standard contains the German version of the 3rd edition of the European Standard EN IEC 62232 and is identical with the International standard IEC 62232. It serves the evaluation of the radio-frequency field strength, power density and specific Absorption Rate (SAR) related to human exposure to electromagnetic fields from radio communication base stations which operate in the frequency range 110 MHz to 100 GHz. The description of the evaluation methods and specifications for the determination of the measurement uncertainty are contained in this standard. The process concerning the selection of the method is also described e.g. with relevant flow charts. Hereby measurements in the laboratory as well as measurements in situ are addressed. The evaluated results can be used for the comparison with limits for human exposure, however the limits are not defined in this standard.
