Cleanliness of components - Part 1: Method for the derivation and preparation of a cleanliness specification
Abstract
This document defines a procedure for deriving and creating a cleanliness specification for components along the process chain. This document does not specify how a cleanliness specification is to be implemented in the production process. This document is applicable to metallic components; the procedure is also applicable to components made of other materials as well as to assemblies. This document is aimed in particular at design engineers, planners, quality managers, and production managers in industrial manufacturing processes. This document does not define limit values for individual contaminants or contamination classes within or at the end of the process chain.
