Thermoplastics pipes and fittings - ‘Design for recycling' guidelines

Abstract

This document specifies design for recycling guidelines for thermoplastic pipes and fittings, used as construction products or used in water supply systems for irrigation. The guidelines are developed to facilitate mechanical recycling. Thermoplastic fittings are considered to also include manholes, inspection chambers, infiltration boxes, valves and other ancillaries used in a piping system. Note 1: For example PVC-U and PE are considered thermoplastics. Note 2: Thermoplastics water supply piping systems (e.g. coiled on wheels) for the agricultural sector are a part of this document Note 3 Pipes and fittings only used for cable management are not part of this document. Note 4: Packaging of pipes and fittings is not part of this document. Note 5: Hoses, flexibles, drip lines (irrigation) are not part of this document.
