Calcium silicate masonry units as raw material for the building industry - Preparation, utilisation and requirements for recycled aggregates

Abstract

This topic has been submitted as a request for the development of a DIN SPEC according to the PAS procedure. The application is currently being examined. DIN SPECs in accordance with the PAS procedure are developed within workshops set up on a temporary basis. This document will be developed and approved by the authors who will approve the business plan. This document specifies requirements for the properties of aggregates from sand-lime demolition material that can be used for the remanufacture of sand-lime bricks. Both physical (e.g. particle size distribution) and chemical-mineralogical property requirements (e.g. freedom from contaminants) are specified. In addition, requirements/recommendations are given for the cooperation of all institutions and companies involved in the recycling process (planners, architects, recycling companies, building material manufacturers, operators of landfills, construction companies, authorities).
