Separation station for fire extinguishing and fire protection systems with stagnant water - Requirements and testing

Abstract

This standard describes requirements and test methods for separation stations for fire extinguishing and Fire protection systems with stagnant water (hereinafter: separation station), exclusively for: - Sprinkler systems; - open nozzle fire extinguishing systems; and - wall hydrant systems, which do not use any additives and no additional water feeds and water replenishments into the fire extinguishing and fire protection system and do not contain any additional equipment for pressure maintenance or Pressure boosting. The requirements of this standard apply together with the requirements of DIN 1988-600. The use of isolating stations in accordance with this standard takes account of fire protection concerns on the one hand and on the other hand the concerns of drinking water hygiene.
