Subsoil - Calculation of the Bearing Pressure Distribution under Spread Foundations
Abstract
This document deals with the basic principles and the calculation methods for determining the distribution of base pressure under area foundations on cohesive and non-cohesive soils for residential and commercial buildings, industrial buildings, storage facilities, tanks e.g. with predominantly vertical loads. The calculation methods are applicable as approximate methods if the boundary of the layers under the area foundation is approximately horizontal and level.
