Paints, varnishes and coatings - Corrosion protection of supporting thin-walled building components made of steel - Part 2: Surveillance and certification requirements

Abstract

This standard specifies the requirements for monitoring and certification in the corrosion protection of load-bearing thin-walled steel components. It applies to all bodies offering monitoring and certification of corrosion protection in accordance with DIN 55634-1 and to coaters who apply corrosion protection to load-bearing thin-walled steel components, as well as to component manufacturers, insofar as the coating is affected by further processing. NOTE No monitoring and certification according to this standard is required for hot-dip galvanizing companies that produce coatings according to DIN EN ISO 1461 and galvanize load-bearing steel components according to DASt Guideline 022 and are already certified by a PÜZ body according to §24 MBO (ÜZ procedure).
