Abstract

This document specifies requirements for diaphragm seal systems, which are defined as electrical and mechanical pressure measuring instruments and pressure switches equipped with a diaphragm seal. This document does not apply to the isolated description of individual components but only to their combination as a diaphragm seal system. This document applies to diaphragm seal systems where the diaphragm seal is either rigidly connected to the measuring device or connected via a flexible capillary tube, and which are delivered as a complete unit. This document is applicable to configurations for measuring positive and/or negative gauge pressure, absolute pressure, or differential pressure for industrial applications. In practice, these measurements are often used to derive measurement quantities such as filling level. This document is exclusively applicable to diaphragm seal systems in which the diaphragm solely serves to separate the measured fluid from the measuring device and does not function as a measuring device itself. This document is exclusively applicable to diaphragm seal systems where the transmission between the diaphragm and the measuring device is carried out via a fluid. This document is exclusively applicable to pressures up to 1 600 bar.
