Railway applications - Coordination requirements and energy-saving performance evaluation for Energy Feedback Systems in DC Traction Power Systems

Abstract

This document applies to coordination between Energy Feedback System (EFS)and other equipments in DC traction power system (TPS). EFS is a set of equipment which recovers regenerative energy from DC traction power supply system to AC power network. This document applies to: • EFS which is operated independently with energy feedback function in DC TPS. • Those systems with energy feedback function in the DC TPS, such as bi-directional converter. When the system operated under energy feedback mode, it should be considered as EFS. This document specifies the functions, connection modes, performance requirements, location and sizing for EFS. This document gives guidelines for coordination requirements with other subsystems, energy-saving evaluation method, and analysis method based on simulation.
