Application of construction products in structures - Part 4: Prefabricated structural members assembled with punched metal plate fasteners
Abstract
This standard specifies requirements for the design and use of "prefabricated load-bearing components with punched metal plate fasteners" that have been manufactured and documented in accordance with DIN EN 14250. This standard applies to precast structural members in service classes 1 and 2 according to DIN EN 1995-1-1. It also applies correspondingly to temporary structural members in service class 3. This standard applies to prefabricated building components that are protected against unwholesome moisture ingress during storage, transport and assembly. The requirements also apply correspondingly to prefabricated load-bearing components made of laminated beams, glued laminated timber or laminated veneer lumber of softwood in accordance with DIN 1052:2008. Prefabricated load-bearing components according to DIN 1052:2008 can also be used as temporary components, e.g. scaffolding components, formwork trusses for concrete structures, scenery or advertising signs. The European standard EN 14250 has been available as a harmonized European standard since November 2004 and has been adopted in a revised version as DIN EN 14250:2010-05 in the German body of standards. Products manufactured in accordance with this standard are thus allowed to obtain a declaration of performance and a CE marking and to be freely traded within the scope of the Construction Products Regulation. However, the regulation on the use of these products remains the responsibility of the member states. This standard supplements the design standard DIN EN 1995-1-1 and DIN EN 1995-1-1/A2 with its National Annex DIN EN 1995 1 1/NA.
