Determination of the degree of dispersion of metals using chemisorption - Part 1: Principles

Abstract

This document applies to the determination of the dispersion degree, the specific metal surface and medium crystallite using gas chemisorption. The methods described in this standard by the example of Platinum, Palladium, Nickel and Copper are especially suitable for supported mono metal catalysts, where the metal surface differs from the total surface, but also for other metal catalysts like Raney catalysts. Annex A contains information for the transfer on other metals.
