Measurement procedure for the assessment of specific absorption rate of human exposure to radio frequency fields from hand-held and body-worn wireless communication devices - Human models, instrumentation and procedures (Frequency range of 4 MHz to 10 GHz) - Part 1528: Human models, instrumentation, and procedures (Frequency range of 4 MHz to 10 GHz) (IEC/IEEE 62209-1528:2020); EN IEC/IEEE 62209-1528:2021

Abstract

This draft contains the German version of the European Standard EN IEC/IEEE 62209-1528 and is identical with the International standard IEC/IEEE 62209-1528:2020. It summarizes the contents of the previous International standards IEC 62209-1:2016 and IEC 62209-2:2010 + A1:2019 and thus unifies the methods for the evaluation of the specific absorption rate of wireless communication devices. Moreover, the International Standard was prepared by a joint working group of IEC/TC 106 and IEEE and published as International Dual-Logo-Standard. It serves for the evaluation of the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) related to human exposure to electro¬magnetic fields from wireless communication devices in the extended frequency range 4 MHz to 10 GHz. The measurements are done by exposition of a measurement phantom (body simulator) by electromagnetic fields and determination of the SAR with the use of a probe. The description of the measurement method, specifications of this measurement phantom and specifications for the determination of the measurement uncertainty are contained in this standard. Apart from the summarizing of the contents of the two previous standards a number of further additions and modifications were done.
