Abstract

This European Standard specifies the requirements for step stools. This includes design characteristics, dimensions, materials, performance requirements, test methods and the declaration of suitability of use. The standard is not applicable to ladders and stepladders as defined by EN131-1. The requirements are based upon the maximum total load of 150 kg.
