Abstract

This part of the IEC 61851 series, together with IEC 61851-1 Ed. 3 and IEC 61851-23 Ed. 2.0 applies to DC EV supply equipment for conductive charging electric road vehicles with a charging power in the range of Megawatts, with a rated supply voltage up to 1 000 V AC or up 235 to 1 500 V DC and a rated output voltage up to 1 500 V DC. This document specifies the DC EV supply equipment based on system C as defined in Annex CC of IEC 61851-23. Requirements for non-isolated system are under consideration and are not specified in this document. The requirements for digital communication between DC EV supply equipment and electric vehicle for control of DC charging are defined in IEC 61851-24. This standard does not cover all safety aspects related to maintenance. Non-regulated DC EV supply equipment is not covered by this edition.
