Evaluation and routine testing in medical imaging departments - Part 3-8: Acceptance and constancy tests - Radiography and radioscopy (IEC/CDV 61223-3-8:2022); German and English version prEN IEC 61223-3-8:2022

Abstract

This part of IEC 61223 applies to evaluation of the performance of installed x-ray equipment for radiography and radioscopy that conform to IEC 60601-2-54 or IEC 60601-2-43. This standard applies to the generation of x-radiation and to accessories of x-ray equipment. It includes x-ray equipment that incorporates algorithms for artefact correction in digital×ray image receptors and x-ray equipment with digital subtraction angiography (DSA) as a mode of operation. image display devices that are a part of the x-ray equipment are included in the scope of this standard as these are a prerequisite to perform any image quality related test. This standard applies to acceptance tests and constancy tests, which are part of the quality assurance program in medical imaging departments. This standard provides guidance to manufacturers regarding the acceptance and constancy tests for the x-ray equipment in a manufacturer supplied quality control manual.
