Abstract

This document describes a risk group classification system for ultraviolet lamp products and the manufacturing and user safety requirements that may result from assignment to a risk group. The scope of this document is limited to lamp products whose sole intended is the emission of radiant energy in the ultraviolet range. Lamp products are not covered by the scope of this document if they emit predominantly in the visible and/or infrared range or are used for general lighting and/or emission of thermal radiation or are used as fluorescent UV lamps for skin tanning.
