Measurement and assessment of low-frequency noise immissions - Guidelines for the assessment - Technical equipment

Abstract

These guidelines should provide some criteria for the assessment of low-frequency noise immissions in the neighbourhood according to DIN 45680. These are targeted on the protection of significant nuisance in residential areas. These guidelines are intended to be applicable in case of permanent or repeated low-frequency noise immissions which were caused by technical facilities and shall complete the existing assessment methods for these noise immissions. However, these guidelines does not represent a suitable standard for immissions consisting of rarely short-term single-events (e.g. detonations). As an example, the types of plants are listed in Annex A, which are likely to be affected by low-frequency noise immissions in the event of an airborne and/or structure-borne sound transmission.
