Coordination of the establishment and maintenance of a standardized vocabulary of terms, definitions and their associated semantics for anaesthetic, respiratory care, and patient monitoring equipment and medical gas supply systems, so that they are used consistently in documents and materials developed by ISO/TC 121, Anaesthetic, respiratory care, and patient monitoring equipment and medical gas supply systems and its associated Subcommittees, Joint Working Groups and Working Groups.

These vocabularies and associated semantics can include terminology for:

  • standards development;
  • human-device interface;
  • labeling;
  • communication of health informatics data;
  • clinical safety and use.
