Biotechnology

This working committee is the core of the NAGesuTech biotechnology subject area. The current standardization activities in this subject area are determined exclusively by ISO/TC 276 Biotechnology, for which DIN provides the secretariat. The location in NAGesuTech was based on the scope of ISO/TC 276. The ISO Biotechnology Committee is currently working primarily on standardization projects concerning biobanks, analytical methods, transport and processing of cells, data processing and data integration, upstream and downstream processes, and quality control. The areas of food and diagnostics are excluded from the scope of the ISO committee. With integration into NAGesuTech, some standards from the work of CEN/TC 233 Biotechnology (Secretariat France), which had been dormant for some time, were also transferred, as were three purely national standards on the subject of medical microbiology.
