Overview
This document describes an optical method for determining the surface tension of liquids using the pendant drop method. method can be used in particular to characterize aqueous solutions of low molecular weight or polymeric surfactants. It also draws attention to possible difficulties and shows possible solutions. This document has been prepared by NA 062-05-63 AA "Anwendungstechnische Prüfverfahren für Tenside" ("Application technology test methods for surfactants") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 19403-3.
