Overview
This standard is a product standard for connectors for optical fibres. Committee NA 140-00-14-01 UA "Steckverbinder und Steckvorrichtungen" ("Electrical connectors and plug-and-socket devices") at DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE) is responsible for this standard. This standard is applicable for connectors for optical fibres (in the following FO-connector) with two or four channels (Single Mode (SM) or Multi Mode (MM), size 19, hermaphroditic, expanded beam in connection with VG 96977-2, degree of protection IP 68. Connectors for optical fibres conforming to this standard are subject to type testing in accordance with VG 95211. Components in accordance with this standard can be used at ambient temperatures from -46 °C to 85 °C.
