Overview

This document specifies the requirements for bodies operating training programmes for personnel who perform machinery condition monitoring, identify machine faults, and recommend corrective action. General requirements for training body personnel are contained in this part of ISO 18436. Specific requirements for personnel in condition monitoring and diagnostics are covered in other parts of ISO 18436. Certification is the process of demonstrating that the subject of certification (activity or process, product, organization, individually or in combination) is capable of meeting specified requirements. Certification is the demonstration of personal qualities, education, training, and/or work experience. International Standard ISO 18436-3:2025 "Condition monitoring and diagnostics of machines - Requirements for training and certification of personnel - Part 3: Requirements for training bodies and the training process" has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 108 "Mechanical vibration, shock, and condition monitoring", Subcommittee SC 5 "Condition monitoring and diagnostics of machine systems", the secretariat of which is held by SA (Australia). Working Committee Na 001-03-05 AA "Zustandsüberwachung und Diagnostik von Maschinen" ("Condition monitoring and diagnostics of machine systems") DIN/VDI Standards Committee Acoustics, Noise Control and Vibration Engineering (NALS) in collaboration with Committee NA 062-11-02 "Qualifizierung und Zertifizierung von Personal der zerstörungsfreien Prüfung" ("Qualification and certification of NDT personnel") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP) is responsible for the German participation.
