Overview

This part of the standard applies to primarily storey-high prefabricated masonry compound units which are as wide as the room (this also includes balustrades and gable slopes) and buildings made thereof. It contains constructive comments and information for provision of verification of evidence for the individual prefabricated masonry compound units, even taking under consideration transport and assembly, and for the structure. The rules of DIN EN 1996 (all parts) and the associated National Annexes generally apply to the design of unreinforced masonry made of masonry panels. This document establishes supplementary rules for precast components that are not covered therein. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 005-06-33 AA "Mauerwerk; Bauten aus Fertigbauteilen" ("Masonry; prefabricated units for structures") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau).
