Overview
This document applies to stationary, single-phase, air-cooled (natural or forced cooling) dry-type transformers used in the ignition systems of gas and oil burners. The windings can be encapsulated or non-encapsulated. This document does not apply to external circuits and their components intended for connection to the transformer's input and output terminals or sockets. The standard differs from DIN EN 61558-2-3 (VDE 0570-2-3):2011-03 as follows: a) adjustment of structure and references in accordance with IEC 61558-1:2017. The document deals with the safety of ignition transformers for gas and oil burners. Ignition transformers incorporating electronic circuits are also covered by this document.
