DIN 35255
Quality requirements for composite processes
Qualitätsanforderungen an Composite-Prozesse
Overview
This document specifies the basic requirements and defines the general terms for working with fibre-reinforced plastics (hereinafter referred to as "composites") as well as the requirements for composite- manufacturing and composite-using companies (hereinafter referred to as user companies) in industry and handicrafts. It represents the state of technology for the organization and implementation of composite processes across industries. For this purpose, this document establishes safety classes as a basis for classifying each composite/composite component covered by this document. This document is applicable along the entire process chain from development to manufacturing to maintenance and repair, namely for the areas of - development of composites/composite components (pre-production), - manufacture of composites/composite components (in-production), - maintenance and repair of composites/composite components (post-production) as well as - quality assurance in the three areas mentioned. This document establishes general organizational, administrative, and manufacturing principles for the areas mentioned and is applicable to every composite/composite component, regardless - of the matrix and fibre material used, - of the type of composite material, - of product recommendations from composite manufacturers, users, and raw material suppliers, - of the area of application of the composite/composite component, - of the respective batch size. This document has been developed to specify the quality requirements for composite technology with regard to development, manufacturing, maintenance/repair, and reporting procedures, both in factories and workshops as well as on site. It provides the basis for assessing the ability of a manufacturer/processor to develop, manufacture, or process composite structures and to meet the quality requirements specified in this document when these are specified in a contract between the parties involved, an application standard, or a regulatory declaration. The responsible national standardization committee is Working Group NA 092-00-28-02 AK "Quality requirements for composite processes" at DIN Standards Committee for Welding and Related Processes (NAS).
