Overview
This document (DIN ISO 24394:2023) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 44 "Welding and allied processes", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 092-00-17 AA "Schweißen im Luft- und Raumfahrzeugbau (DVS AG A 9)" ("Welding in aerospace (DVS AG A 9)") at DIN Standards Committee Welding and Allied Processes (NAS). This document specifies requirements for the qualification of welders and welding operators for fusion welding of metallic materials for aerospace applications. Success in the test is an essential precondition for the qualification of welders and welding operators in new production and repair work in aerospace. However, welding equipment operators do not need to be qualified according to this document.
