Overview
This document defines methods for the measurement of energy consumption of vending machines, whether or not fitted with refrigerating appliances. It does not apply to beverage vending machines that dispense hot and/or cold beverages in beverage containers, machines with a heating function, or those operated at temperatures below 0 °C. The standard differs from DIN EN IEC 63252 (VDE 0705-3252):2022-03 as follows: a) inclusion of a definition for "refrigerated vending machine"; b) improvement of the setup of category 4 and category 6 vending machines for testing (5.1); c) clarification of the arrangement of M-cans (5.4); d) clarification of product charging procedures and introduction of the possibility to use cans other than 330-ml cans (5.5); e) clarification of product storage temperatures (5.6); f) clarification of the practical definition of stabilization (5.7); g) clarification of the test procedure for vending machines without an energy-saving mode (6.3.2); h) clarification of the test procedure with energy measurement (6.3.3); i) modification of the definition of "volume" (6.4); j) inclusion of an equation for calculating the energy consumption of vending machines without an energy-saving mode (Clause 7); k) modification of the energy consumption calculation to determine consumption per day rather than per year (Clause 7); l) clarification of the definition of category 6 vending machines; m) editorial improvements with regard to the consistent use of terminology; n) introduction of dated normative references; o) ppdate of Annex ZZA and Annex ZZB.
