Overview

This document specifies a procedure for quality assurance of software-based calculation methods for acoustic parameters in workspaces. It is applicable to calculation methods that use a three-dimensional data model of the workspace to determine the parameters required for acoustic assessment, such as the sound pressure levels at workstations based on the emission parameters of the sound sources (noise projection), as well as the reverberation time and the speech transmission index (STI) for specified sound source and listener positions. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA-001-02-03 AA "Schallausbreitung, Schallschutz und Lärmminderung" ("Sound propagation, sound control and noise reduction") at DIN Standards Committee DIN/VDI Standards Committee Acoustics, Noise Control and Vibration Engineering (NALS).
