Title (German)

Zigaretten - Bestimmung des Kohlenmonoxidgehalts in der Gasphase von Zigarettenrauch - NDIR-Verfahren (ISO 8454:2024)

Overview

The International Standard ISO 8454 specifies a method for the determination of carbon monoxide (CO) in the vapour phase of cigarette smoke. The cigarettes are smoked in accordance with the procedures given in ISO 4387. The vapour phase of the cigarette smoke obtained during this procedure is collected and the carbon monoxide is measured using a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) analyser calibrated for carbon monoxide. The amount of carbon monoxide per cigarette is calculated. The responsible German standardization committee responsible is Working Committee NA 057-04-01 AA "Tabak und Tabakerzeugnisse" ("Tobacco and tobacco products") at DIN Standards Committee Food and Agricultural Products (NAL).
