Radio frequency and coaxial cable assemblies - Part 2-2: Blank detail specification for flexible coaxial cable assemblies (IEC 60966-2-2:2024); German version EN IEC 60966-2-2:2024
Konfektionierte Koaxial- und Hochfrequenzkabel - Teil 2-2: Vordruck für Bauartspezifikation für flexible konfektionierte Koaxialkabel (IEC 60966-2-2:2024); Deutsche Fassung EN IEC 60966-2-2:2024
Overview
This part of IEC 60966 is a blank detail specification that relates to flexible coaxial cable assemblies operating in the transverse electromagnetic mode (TEM). The creation of a uniform layout and style of detail specifications is determined by the use of a blank detail specification pro forma. The detail specification may be prepared by the insertion of data into the pro forma by a national standards organization, by an approved manufacturer or by a user (when prepared by a user, the detail specification shall be submitted to the national authorized institution by an approved manufacturer). The detail specification specifies electrical, mechanical, and environmental test values, rated values, or characteristics. For this purpose, the reference to the relevant IEC standard is given, as well as the values for the corresponding parameter. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of this document. The standard differs from DIN EN 60966-2-1 (VDE 0887-966-2-1):2010-03 as follows: a) Clause 1, "Scope", has been added; b) Clause 2, "Normative references", has been added; c) Clause 4, "Instructions", has been rewritten; d) "[6] External dimensions for flexible assembled coaxial cables", "[7] Relative positional dimensions of the interface" have been added; e) "Corona breakdown voltage" has been added; f) "[19] Value", "[20] Note" have been changed; g) "Difference in insertion loss" has been added; h) "Vibration test" has been added; i) "Impact test" has been added; j) "Testing for vibration, continuous shock, shock" has been changed to "Testing for vibration, shock". The application of this document increases investment security for manufacturers and users, provides testing laboratories and manufacturers with defined test specifications, and ensures compatibility across manufacturers.
