Overview

This document applies to flat, flexible cables insulated and sheathed with PVC or halogen-free materials with a rated voltage of U₀0/U 300/500 V and for cross-sections greater than 1 mm² with a rated voltage of U₀/U 450/750 V for general use and for use in passenger and freight elevators. This document contains the structure, requirements, and special test procedures for flat, flexible cables insulated and sheathed with PVC or halogen-free materials with a rated voltage of U₀0/U 300/500 V and for cross-sections greater than 1 mm² with a rated voltage of U₀0/U 450/750 V for use in passenger and freight elevators and for general use. There are no restrictions in accordance with the scope of this document. The standard differs from DIN EN 50214 (VDE 0283-2):2007-10 as follows: a) flat cables insulated and sheathed with halogen-free materials are included; b) the cable may consist of power cores, control cores or elements for data transmission, as well as a combination of the above; c) Clause 5 describes only flat, sheathed, flexible cables for elevators with a single-layer structure; d) and Clause 6 describes only flat, sheathed, flexible cables for elevators with a modular structure with small stranding elements. Typical examples of application for this document are cables for passenger and freight elevators and overhead cranes.
