Overview
IEC 60966-2-1:2024 is a sectional specification that relates to flexible RF coaxial cable assemblies operating in the transverse electromagnetic mode (TEM). It establishes uniform requirements for testing the electrical, mechanical and climatic properties of flexible cable assemblies composed of flexible RF coaxial cables and RF coaxial connectors. This part of IEC 60966 applies to flexible cable assemblies composed of flexible RF coaxial cables and coaxial connectors. Flexible RF cable assemblies are widely used in mobile communication systems, microwave test equipment, radar, aerospace and other fields. The sectional specification specifies electrical, mechanical, and environmental test values, rated values, or characteristics. For this purpose, the reference to the relevant IEC standard is given, as well as the values for the corresponding parameter. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of this document. The standard differs from DIN EN 60966-2-1 (VDE 0887-966-2-1):2010-03 as follows: a) Figure 2 has been added; b) Clause 6, "Type designation according to IEC", has been added; c) Figure 3 has been changed; d) Clause 7, "Rated values and characteristic values", has been added; e) "Requirements/Comments" have been added to all tests in Clause 8; f) "Insertion loss difference", "Corona breakdown voltage", and "Vibration test" have been added to Table 2; g) "Shock test" has been added to Table 3; h) in Table 3, "Testing for vibration, continuous shock, shock" has been changed to "Testing for vibration, shock"; i) Annex A, Annex B, and Annex C have been added. The detail specification specifies electrical, mechanical, and environmental test values, rated values, or characteristics. For this purpose, the reference to the relevant IEC standard is given, as well as the values for the corresponding parameter.
