Overview
The scope of requirements corresponds to DIN EN 60704-1 with the following addition: These particular requirements apply to refrigerating appliances (equipped with their accessories) for household use and similar purposes that are mains or battery powered. This document does not apply to air conditioning systems. The standard differs from DIN EN 60704-2-14:2020-05 as follows: a) update of the scope; b) expansion of the terms; c) changes to the loading and operation of the appliances during testing; d) adjustments to the measurement. In general, this document is used to determine the noise level. The results of noise measurements are used for many purposes, for example for noise declaration and for comparing the noise emissions of a particular device with the noise emissions of other devices of the same family. In other cases, the results are used as a basis for technical measures in the development phase of new equipment or for deciding on sound insulation measures. In any case, it is important to define procedures with known accuracy so that the results of measurements from different laboratories can be compared.
