Overview
This document specifies the characteristics of spherical plain bearings in corrosion resisting steel, with assembly slots, metric series, with or without lubrication holes and groove, intended for use in fixed or moving parts of aircraft structure and control mechanisms, within the temperature range from −54 °C to 150 °C. The standard EN 2588 has been prepared by the ASD-STAN of the AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) with the participation of German experts at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-03-03 AA "Teile der mechanischen Systeme" ("Components of mechanical systems") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospac (NL).
